5 Tips on How to Stay Motivated When Feeling Burnt Out
How Do You Stay Motivated?
As you guys and gals know, I do podcasting on and off throughout the year because podcasting is something that I enjoy. In between seasons, I take a break to learn from my mistakes from the prior season. I also read articles to stay up to date with the podcast industry, and I teach others how to podcast through my own experience as a podcaster. Honestly, it doesn't feel like a break, it’s more of taking a break from What’s Good the podcast. I’m still working, connecting, and networking with others, but on the other hand, I'm still leaving room for me to eventually burn out, which isn’t something I want for myself.
Check out these tips to overcome being burnt out to stay motivated throughout our journey!
Check-in with yourself
We receive signs before we reach the ultimate breaking point of being tired, stressed, and overwhelmed. It is important to understand why we are feeling stressed and pressured, and then, what is the best way to handle it. Never get past it, but how to accomplish the task resolving the issue at hand.
Journal and Pray
When I pray and journal my thoughts, it is easy to create a plan to execute the vision. We have so many thoughts that come through our heads daily, it is important to get them on paper to plan your next steps. With God by your side to guide you in your journey, anything is possible.
Affirmations
Understand that you have all the tools needed to succeed in life. Speak life over yourself with positive words, and this will ultimately change your mindset.
Avoid distractions
Put your phone away!!! Trying to stay busy to avoid issues that you are facing will only make things worse. Limit the time you spend on social media and place that time into reading articles about your industry, learning a new skill, or exercise to get your juices pumping.
Focus on the meaning
Take some time to remind yourself why you do what you do. It is important to understand your why. This will help you motivate yourself to get busy and take care of business.
If you ever feel burnt out, don’t get discouraged or be hard on yourself. This is perfectly normal because we are hit with tests and trials on an everyday basis. What matters is how you get out of your way to stay motivated and grounded throughout your process. If you feel you need additional support, don’t be afraid to ask for help as well. Be brave and do what works for you. You got this!
