Stay Humble and Kind

How to Stay Grounded

Life can be filled with moments of highs and lows, joys and suffering, and everything in between. We are constantly surrounded by people, places, and/or things we can't wait to try and goals we can't wait to accomplish. Sometimes we lose focus on the important things in life when we are only concerned about what's next. This makes it challenging to stay grounded and appreciative of what we have.

Here are some tips you can use that have helped me stay grounded.

  1. Always have fun in what you are doing: If you are not having fun in whatever profession you are in, that is a problem. This means that your main focus is on making money rather than the mission. Remember to stay true to yourself and your mission and enjoy yourself while doing it.

  2. Practice gratitude: Whether you choose to practice gratitude in a big or small way, take a moment every day to be thankful for yourself, the people in your life, the things you have experienced, and where you are in life.

  3. Spend time with family and friends: When we are primarily focused on work, we tend to neglect our loved ones. Whether it's just a quick phone call or an outing together, take time out to spend time with the people you love and who love you.

  4. Take a break and connect with nature: Usually, when we take a break, we tend to get on our phones. When was the last time you took a break in nature? Take a walk outside and observe the world around you. It can take your mind away from all the craziness that life throws us.

  5. Be kind: I stand by the saying, "treat people how you want to be treated." It's important to remember that you never know what people are going through. No matter what your status is or what is going on in your life, show kindness to others and yourself. A little gratitude can go a long way.

Using these tips can help you regain sight of the important things in life and become more grounded.

Let go of things that no longer serve you and appreciate where you are in life, right here and now.
