5 Ways to Conduct an Amazing Interview
How Do You Conduct Your Interviews?
My podcast, What’s Good, is an interview format podcast, so I had to learn early on how to conduct an interview.
I realized that the best interview strategy for me was to research the guests before I asked them to be on the show. It helped me with creating my outline of questioning and I wanted to see if they would be a good fit for my audience.
Check out the tips below that I still use to this day.
Make sure you minimize any distractions by turning off your phone and pray/meditate before the show to clear your thoughts.
Research and find out background information about your guest and prepare questions beforehand.
Make sure that you are pulling resources and life experiences from your interviewee that appeals to your listeners.
Choose interesting guests who will add value to your show.
Brief your guest about your show. Let them know your podcast format. This will create a comfortable space for them.
It is important to learn about your guest before they come on your show. If you don’t take out the time to do basic research, it can hurt you when you start the recording process. I think out of all the tips, this may be the most important one.
So tell me, what are some ways you prepare for your podcast interviews?
